More color and drawing. There's a struggle here . Drawing wins. Color wins. Seldom the piece wins. But when it does, that's the thing.

I was getting a bit tight with my initial underdrawing. So I threw on some paint and made a few charcoal marks. I also made some scale corrections to the musicians.

After a number of thumbnail sketches and considerations for composition, this 11"x 14" sketch serves as the base for my oil pastel study.

Today I start a new thing, blogging. This blog will follow the development of a painting based on the intro oil pastel study.  This drawing is 11"x 14". Now I have to translate this to a 48"x 36" acrylic on canvas.
